Our research, evaluation and strategy services
Fund Evaluations
Innovation funds have the potential to transform the way that humanitarian and climate programmes are delivered. Our ideal projects are evaluations that last around six months and are delivered through small teams of 3-4 people from diverse disciplines and backgrounds. Our first project unders this workstream is an evaluation of innovation at ICRC.
Artificial Intelligence in Humanitarian Settings
The emergence of new generative AI models and applications since 2022 has presented new opportunities and risks for our clients. We will deliver training workshops and mentoring activities designed to help teams understand what AI is, where it has come from, and how it will affect their work and their wider sectors.
Climate, Plastics and Greening the System
As climate challenges deepen, humanitarian agencies are (finally) starting to fund more anticipatory humanitarian action and to make their work more environmentally sustainable. We will seek out initiatives and start-ups working on these issues, mentoring them to build an evidence base and of delivering research support.
How we work
Our four-step approach ensures effective research to answer your organization's most pressing questions:
Phase 1: Great scoping
From ethnographic observations to RCTs, we help you figure out how to use research to answer your organization’s most pressing questions.
Phase 2: New data
We bring together unlikely teams and diverse resources to collate primary and secondary datasets.
Phase 3: Creative, user-focussed outputs
Too much research stays on the shelf. Our work is written (drawn, or spoken) with busy practitioners in mind.
Phase 4: Workable recommendations
We’ll bring people together, create buy-in within your organisation, and mentor your team to create and use evidence more effectively.
